Alex Wilmer joined the Town of Bridgewater in February 2016 as the Town Paralegal, although his ties with Bridgewater go back even further. As a student at James Madison University, Alex interned with the Town in the summer of 1999. The following summer, Alex interned with the law offices of Litten & Sipe, LLP in Harrisonburg where he began a long, 15-year career as a paralegal. At the firm, Alex worked closely with Bridgewater and several other local governments throughout the Shenandoah Valley. In 2018, Alex was promoted to Assistant Town Manager for Administration.
Alex was born and raised in Augusta County. He graduated from JMU in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration in 2002. He served as president of the Shenandoah Valley Paralegal Association in 2005 and currently serves on the board of directors for the Virginia Local Government Paralegal Association.
