WHEN IS LARGE ITEM COLLECTION? Large items must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the first Monday of each month and then the items will be picked up sometime between Monday and Friday of that week.
DO I NEED TO CALL TO HAVE MY ITEMS PICKED UP? You do not need to call but items must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the first Monday of the month in order to be put on the schedule.
WHAT ITEMS CAN I SET OUT FOR PICK UP? Large Item Collection includes items that do not qualify as household trash, recyclables or vegetation. Typical items are appliances, furniture or tree limbs.
WHAT ITEMS CAN I NOT SET OUT FOR PICK UP? Some common unacceptable “large items”:
- Lead Acid Batteries
- Motor Vehicles or Motor Vehicle Parts
- Tree Limbs Over 6” in Diameter and Over 8’ in Length
- Tree Stumps
- Paint or Liquid Containers That Have Not Been Allowed to Dry Out
WHEN WILL MY ITEMS BE PICKED UP? Items will be picked up sometime during the week but not necessarily on Monday.
HOW WILL MY ITEMS BE PICKED UP? Each load will be separated into different types of items, such as...
- Metals with Freon
- Construction Materials
- Tree Limbs
WHY DID A TRUCK COME THROUGH MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOT PICK UP MY ITEMS? If a truck has been through your neighborhood and has not picked up your items, it could be that the crew is picking up a different type of item than you have set out for pick up. Leave your items at the curb and somebody will be by to pick them up by the end of the week.
WHEN SHOULD I CALL, IF MY ITEMS HAVE NOT BEEN PICKED UP? By Thursday or Friday the crews are usually finishing their pick up routes. If your items have not been picked by then, please call the town offices to ensure your items get picked up.
